The newly established Cardio-CARE research group, Medizincampus Davos, Switzerland, funded by the Kühne Foundation, is searching for 2 highly motivated

Scientists Bioinformatics/Statistical Genetics – NGS (f/m/d)

for an ambitious collaborative project in cardiovascular disease. Until the end of 2020 approximately 9000 subjects from the Hamburg City Health Study will undergo whole genome sequencing at the University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland. Clinical cohorts will be additionally sequenced. All data analysis from raw data processing to integrated analysis will be done at Cardio-CARE in Davos. The project will be run in close collaboration with the Department of Cardiology from the University Medical Center in Hamburg, Germany.

What Is Special About Davos?

Davos is the largest resort in the Alps for mountain holidays and sport. It is at 1560 m the highest town in the Alps and has one of Switzerland’s biggest ski resorts. Its Conference Center hosts the World Economic Forum WEF nearly every year.

What Would Be Your Main Responsibilities?

• You develop NGS pipelines

• You conduct data analysis with NGS data

• You perform joint analysis of clinical, biomarker and omics data, such as RNA Seq or microbiome data

• You participate in the publication of research findings

• You perform your own methodological research related to NGS projects
