Mayo Clinic (http://www.mayo.edu) in Rochester, Minnesota is seeking a postdoctoral candidate with a Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, or epidemiology and training in statistical genetics. The successful candidate will work primarily on genetic studies in bipolar disorder and/or alcohol use disorders, but will also have an opportunity to work on the development and evaluation of statistical methods for genetic studies of complex human traits. The percent effort dedicated to methods development versus applied studies is flexible, and will depend on the successful candidate’s interests and career goals. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. degree in statistics, biostatistics, or a closely aligned quantitative area, with strong statistical training and computer programming skills. Preference will be given to candidates with background in statistical genetics. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. The position is available immediately, and can be either 1 or 2 years duration (with possible extension).
