The International Genetic Epidemiology Society (IGES) invites all investigators, researchers, and students to submit an abstract for the upcoming conference in Cologne, Germany. This is your opportunity to showcase your research, contribute to advancements in genetic epidemiology, and address the many changes and challenges faced by the field.

General Information

  • Presentation Formats: Completed work or projects may be submitted for either a poster or a podium presentation.

  • Abstract Topics: Abstracts should highlight original research, quality improvement projects, evidence-based practices, and programmatic innovations.

  • Previous Presentations or Publications: Abstracts that have been presented or published within the past 12 months may be submitted but must be updated to relate specifically to this conference.

  • Submitting Author Responsibilities:

    • The submitting author will serve as the main point of contact for all communication with IGES and must share necessary updates with co-authors.

    • All primary authors of accepted abstracts are required to register for the conference and present their abstract.

    • Co-authors who wish to present alongside the primary author must also register for the conference.

  • Expenses: Presenters are responsible for their own expenses, including registration fees, travel, accommodations, and other related costs.


Review Process

  • All submissions will undergo a blind peer-review process by at least two reviewers.

  • Reviewers will not have access to the names or affiliations of the authors to ensure impartial evaluation.


Acceptance Notification

  • Notifications of acceptance will be sent via email to the submitting author only.

  • The submitting author must respond by the stated deadline to accept or decline the invitation to present.

  • Upon acceptance, IGES will request additional materials, including:

    • A PDF of the poster (for poster presentations)

    • A PowerPoint file of the presentation (for podium presentations)

  • Accepted materials may be made available to conference attendees as part of the official conference resources.
