Posting Description

The research group of Dr. Lisa J. Strug is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join a dynamic research team, focused on methodology development and genomic analysis of long-read sequencing data and of Cystic Fibrosis Genetics. The Strug academic research group is embedded with the genome centre environment of The Centre for Applied Genomics (TCAG; www.tcag.ca) at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.

One position is available in statistical genetics/genetic epidemiology.

Successful candidates will have a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a recognized academic institution in one of: statistical genetics, computational biology, bioinformatics, genetic epidemiology or a related discipline. A strong publication record and demonstrated ability to perform impactful research as part of a multidisciplinary, collaborative team are required.

Previous experience in genetic association with genotype array data and/or whole genome sequence is desired, as is previous experience in analyzing large-scale genomic data sets in a high-performance computing environment.

The position is for a two-year term, with the possibility of extension.
